National commission for women's affairs, ‘Astana - Expo 2017’ sign coop memo (PHOTO)

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Today in Akorda Secretary of State, Chairman of the National Commission for Women's Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalykova and chairman of the National Company "Astana - Expo-2017" Talgat Ermegiyaev have signed a memorandum of cooperation.

G.Abdykalikova noted that signing of the memorandum is a significant event for Kazakhstan as 52% of the population, namely, more than 9 million are women. In this regard, one of the main tasks of the National Commission is the all-round involvement of Kazakhstani women in the organization of Expo-2017. "At present the National Commission receives a great number of applications from female community, NGOs, volunteers, businesses to participate in the exhibition. Women's participation is very important as women always call for environment protection, healthy lifestyle and "green" economy," said the Secretary of State. In turn, Talgat Ermegiyaev expressed willingness to work together with the National Commission on this issue.
