NATO reps arrived in Kazakhstan for preparation for ?Zhetysu-2009? exercises.
ALMATY. April 21. KAZINFORM /Serik Koibagarov/ The Main Planning Conference (MPC) of ?Zhetysu-2009? international exercises has kicked off in Almaty today. Representatives of the Civil Emergency Planning of the NATO member states, specialists from 23 countries arrived for the event.

The conference participants will focus on discussion of Draft Exercise Instructions. Support of the host country including the border-crossing procedures, medical support, logistics and other issues will be in the spotlight as well.
According to Deputy Chief of the Almaty Emergencies Department, Colonel Yury Ilyin, the field exercises will take place in September under the aegis of the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) in co-operation with the planners from Kazakhstan, EAPC nations, NATO Military Authorities and EADRCC.
