NATO Sec Gen and young political leaders discuss new security challenges in Lisbon
Delivering a speech to young activists, the NATO Secretary General noted that it became harder to solve the security problems in the 21st century, hence there appeared new challenges and threats such as terrorism, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and cyber attacks.
"All these transnational problems claim international solution. The NATO will more effectively invest in modern opportunities for needs satisfaction", Anders Fogh Rasmussen said.
Over 70 activists who were selected from the NATO member states and partners as well as 120 students of leading universities of Portugal take part in the forum.
During three days young leaders will discuss a wide range of issues which touch upon new strategic concept, regulation of the Afghan situation, global partnership and security threats and challenges.
