NATO Summit kicks off in Lisbon

LISBON. November 19. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ The NATO Summit is being held Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev will take part in the Summit.

The Head of the State plans to partake in a session of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) on Afghanistan.

In opinion of international experts in the security sphere, holding this Summit is a significant event, hence it is marked by adoption of a new strategic conception of the NATO.

There will be reached decisions on reforming the Organization, new approaches on the system of antiballistic missile defense, strengthening deterrence and division of responsibility in the transatlantic region, strengthening the principle of indivisibility of security.

The main strategic tasks on regulation of the Afghan situation will be discussed at the meeting.
