Nauryzbay Kazhy Taganuly reelected as Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan

As many as 300 delegates of the 10th Congress of Kazakhstan Muslims Qurultay unanimously voted to reelect Nauryzbay Kazhy Taganuly as the country’s Supreme Mufti, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan.

“I will exert every effort to justify your confidence. We plan to hold a number of events. For instance, in 2025 the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan will mark 35th jubilee of its establishment as an independent muftiate. I call on everyone to unite and actively joint the implementation of the events scheduled,” Nauryzbay Kazhy Taganuly noted.

Prior to the appointment he has been acting as the 1st Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, chief imam of Khazret Sultan Mosque.

In February 2020, he was elected as the Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan.
