Nazarbayev attends concert dated to Astana's 15th jubilee

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is a special guest of the event.
Mayor of Astana city Imangali Tasmagambetov greeted the Head of State on behalf of the audience.
"You did not hesitate when you made history by transferring the capital from Almaty to Astana. This, by definition, was a historical decision," I. Tasmagambetov said.
The concert kicked off with a five-minute film covering the milestones of Astana's development. Alisher Karimov, Marzhan Arapbayeva, Madina Saduakassova, Altynai Zhorabayeva, Roza Rymbayev and other singers are expected to perform at the concert. Their songs are devoted to the young capital of Kazakhstan.
On 10 December 1997 Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev decreed then Akmola as the new capital of independent Kazakhstan. The city received its current name - Astana on 6 May 1998.
