Nazarbayev, Medvedev discussed energy and innovative cooperation

MOSCOW. March 17. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ Heads of Kazakhstan and Russia N.Nazarbayev and D.Medvedev have discussed the state and prospects for cooperation in key directions of the bilateral relations in Moscow today.

The Leaders of the two states discussed cooperation prospects in the field of oil and gas transportation, hydrocarbon development of the Caspian shelf as well as the cooperation in nuclear, electricity, transit, transport, space, industrial and innovative spheres.

The development of interregional contacts of Kazakhstan and Russia was complimented at the meeting. The sides discussed the realization process of decisions made at the forums on cross-border cooperation held annually with the support of the Presidents of the two states.

The Kazakh President also stressed the importance of such upcoming events as the anniversary meeting within the SCO in Astana, interregional forum of Russia and Kazakhstan in Astrakhan and the 20^th anniversary of the CIS.
