Nazarbayev, Merkel discussed topical issues of bilateral coop and int'l policy

BERLIN. February 8. KAZINFORM /Marlan Zhiembay/ During the meeting President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel have discussed all topical issues of bilateral cooperation and international policy. N.Nazarbayev has informed of it at a press conference following the results of the negotiations.

"First of all, I want to express my gratitude to Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and all German friends for the invitation and hospitality. The two countries will mark the 20^th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations in a few days. Germany was one of the first countries which recognized our sovereignty after the collapse of the Soviet Union," the President said.

As he Head of State noted, over the past years a strong foundation for bilateral cooperation was established between the states, the contractual legal framework of more than 30 documents was formed. This gives a chance to German entrepreneurs to work in Kazakhstan's business atmosphere.

"I highly appreciate this visit to your country. We discussed all topical issues of bilateral cooperation and international policy," N.Nazarbayev said.
