Nazarbayev on main factors that affect Kazakhstan's economy
"You were born at the dawn of Kazakhstan's independence and didn't see how the country rose from the ashes of the Soviet system and what hardships it went through. You are the first generation that lives in the conditions of global world, hence, you have crystal clear idea of the conditions in which Kazakhstan grows and develops," President Nazarbayev has said, addressing participants of the youth forum titled "Towards new victories with the Nation's Leader" in Astana today. The Head of State also stressed that ‘some Kazakhstanis ponder how is that we don't enjoy the same quality of life as in Western Europe, the United Arab Emirates or in the United States'. "There are specific factors that affect our economy and life in a big way. First of all, it's climate, vast territory. Secondly, the fact that Kazakhstan is a landlocked country. Our historical and cultural heritage also plays a role in that," Nursultan Nazarbayev added.
