Nazarbayev receives Supreme UAE Award

ABU DHABI. March 16. KAZINFORM. /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ During his official visit to the UAE President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev have recieved the highest award of the United Arab Emirates - the Order of Zayed .

This award was instituted in honor of President of the United Arab Emirates Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahayan. It is awarded to heads of foreign countries for contribution to the development of bilateral relations. In his turn Nursultan Nazarbayev decorated Sheikh Khalifa with the state award of Kazakhstan Altyn Kyran (Golden Eagle) Order. At the enlarged meeting Kazakh President noted that the two countries had close friendly relationships. Diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates were established in September 1, 1991. As a part of the Islamic world Kazakhstan pays great attention to the development of cooperation with the Persian Gulf states. The UAE invests development of Kazakhstan's N Bloc oil field in the Caspian Sea, construction of Abu Dhabi Plaza Astana tower in the capital of Kazakhstan and Aktau City complex on the Caspian seashore. The two countries reached agreements on establishment of Fallah Joint Direct Investment Fund. Kazakhstan is interested in cooperation with the UAE in petrochemical, agricultural spheres and Arab investments in the fields of energy, infrastructure and industry.
