Nazarbayev: Rural areas development - one of important tasks of Strategy-2020
President Nursultan Nazarbayev has made it public at the meeting with journalists at Akorda on Monday evening, February 28.
The President noted that over the past five years KZT 670 bln was allocated for the programs of rural areas development from the national budget. This amount increased fourfold against 2005. KZT 120 bln was allocated for implementation of investment projects of KazAgro. As a result 27 projects were realized, 1,200 workplaces were created. Besides, important social projects were implemented, schools and hospitals were constructed, thousands of villages are provided with clean drinking water. Now the task is to ensure further development of agriculture. It is planned not only to fully assure the domestic market of Kazakhstan, but also to export 60,000 tons of meat by 2016.
"Our goal is to provide Kazakhstan with its own food as well as to expand export opportunities of the domestic agriculture. It will promote development and prosperity of our rural areas," N.Nazarbayev said.
