"We have debated and agreed upon a number of directions and measures for further development of cooperation between our countries, especially, in the area of trade, economics and investments to give an impulse to the implementation of the Socioeconomic Development Strategy of Vietnam for 2011-2020, and Kazakhstan's Development Strategy for 2010-2020.
Kazakhstan and Vietnam have potential in different fields, however, the level of trade and economic and investment cooperation remains modest and fails to meet the current potential," he stated.
"The agreements signed pave the foundation for strengthening the relations. We agreed to increase commodity turnover and raise efficiency of the intergovernmental commission. The parties agreed also to speed up the beginning of negotiations on setting up a free trade zone between the Customs Union and Vietnam, also in the sphere of agriculture, education, tourism and other areas."
