Nazarbayev says there is no adequate cooperation between research institutes and farmers

ASTANA. KAZINFORM "There is no adequate cooperation between the research institutes and farmers," the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev stated following the meeting with rector of the Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University Akhylbek Kurishbayev.

"KazAgroInnovation JSC cooperates with a great deal of research institutes in the sphere of agro-industrial complex and the Government allocates significant means for its activity. However, research institutes and farmers have not yet established adequate cooperation," the President added. According to the Head of State, it is essential to use mature technologies in the country's agro-industrial complex taking into account the country's conditions. Kurishbayev reported on the development of the concept on the establishment of an agrarian research university, beginning of the reforming of the management system and education process. Besides, the university maintained cooperation with the world's leading universities and scientific centres, prepared pilot international research programmes, the Akorda press service said.

At the end of the meeting the Head of State gave certain tasks on the issues discussed.
