Nazarbayev to be engaged with state affairs during election campaign

ASTANA. March 3. KAZINFORM "I will be engaged in daily state affairs," Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said at the meeting with members of the republican election campaign headquarters in the central office of "Nur Otan" Party today.

The Head of State noted in his speech that Kazakhstan has gone a long way for 20 years. Efficient market economy is established, social issues are resolved. The economy was increased 13 times, the GDP reached USD 9 thousand per capita. The share of population with incomes below the subsistence minimum has decreased fourfold in last ten years. Teachers' salaries were increased 5 times, doctors' wages - 7 times, pensions - 6 times. 45 mln sq m of housing have been built including 450 hospitals and policlinics, 750 new schools. Democratic political system was formed. Peace and harmony reigns in the multinational society of Kazakhstan.

"We have reached all goals set before the country during the years of independence. A good basis for further development was established. I believe our achievements are the best campaign in my support. In this regard I decided not to hold my personal election campaign. I will work on topical issues of the state policy implementation instead," N.Nazarbayev said.
