Necessary to be ready for increase in migrants - Chief of IOM Mission
ASTANA. November 27. KAZINFORM /Askar Bimendin/ In 30 years the world population will reach nine billion people and pressure from migration will become stronger. Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Andreas Halbach has said it at an opening of the session "Intolerance against migrants" within the OSCE Review Conference.
"Migrants are a human face of globalization. According to forecasts, in 30 years the world population will increase by 40 percent, mainly in developing countries, and will reach 9 billion people. Pressure from migration will become stronger. And if migrants - the human face of globalization - will become more apparent in the future, now this face is more covered with scars from the competition and situation in the labor market", Andreas Halbach noted.
