Necessary to build strong system of children's protection in countries of origin for successful combating trafficking in them - UNICEF rep
ASTANA. November 27. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ For successful struggle against trafficking in children it is necessary to build a strong system of their protection in the countries of origin. Chief Child Protection of the UNICEF in Kazakhstan Radoslaw Rzehak has said it at the side-event "Positive experience and challenges on protection of rights of children exposed to trafficking" within the OSCE Review Conference held in the Palace of Peace and Concord.
"The UNICEF suggests wider approaches for combating trafficking in children", he said.
According to him, for successful struggle against trafficking in children it is insufficient only to provide assistance to children affected by slave-trade. It is crucial to construct a strong system of children's protection and families' support. Potential victims of slavers are children from families where parents suffer from alcoholism.
