Necessary to develop new transit routes ? Kazakh Premier

KAZINFORM. /Yernur Akanbai/ ?Effective development of trade-economic relations between the ECO states is impossible without transport infrastructure and new transit routes?, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has said today at the 10th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Tehran, Iran.

?Implementation of projects within the framework of the agreements on development of transit-transport corridors, organization of constant passenger and container transportations by the route Almaty-Istanbul is of paramount importance for the organization?s future. Alongside, Kazakhstan proposes alternative way to realize the project of container transportation using Almaty-Bandar Abbas transport route. We are ready to exert every effort to revive the Silk Road?, K. Massimov noted. Work on revival of ?Western Europe ? Western China? transit corridor has already started. Kazakh Premier welcomed the ECO states to take part in the project.
