Necessary to improve quality of medical care and professionalism of health workers – Serik Akhmetov
"On the instruction of the Kazakh President, the large-scale work is carried out in the country under the state program "Salamatty Kazakhstan. Certainly, there are some problems that require more attention," Akhmetov said at the Government's sitting on Tuesday, Kazinform has learnt from primeminister.kz
"First. According to the President's instruction, we have discussed and made a decision to consolidate costs of outpatient care at the level of the national budget in 2014, the so-called per capita financing," the Prime Minister stated.
"There are a lot of complaints about the poor quality of treatment. So it is necessary to intensify efforts to improve professionalism of our specialists, especially narrow specialists such as cardiologists, and other specialists that are necessary to educate and maximally attract to the local level," Akhmetov said.
The Prime Minister pointed out insufficient number of physicians trained by foreign experts. "It is necessary to invite more foreign experts to conduct master classes," he added.
"Third. Despite the performance of complicated surgeries, there is poorly developed rehabilitation treatment in the country. This issue can be solved through public-private partnership," Serik Akhmetov noted.
Talking about the problems of medical care in remote areas of the country, the Prime Minister instructed to make proposals for the development of emergency medical service and medical aviation.
