Netflix prepares to raise subscription fees
Streaming media giant Netflix will raise prices for its subscription plans in the United States, aiming to capitalize on increased demand after seeing record new subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2024, Agenzia Nova reports.
The ad-supported monthly subscription plan will cost $7,99 per month, up from $6,99 currently, while the premium plan will increase by $2 to $24,99.
Yesterday Netflix announced that it has acquired 18,9 million new subscribers in the fourth quarter, up 44 percent from a year earlier, and slightly raised its 2025 revenue forecast. The company's shares rose more than 13 percent in after-hours trading.
As previously reported, ‘Squad Game’ amassed 480 million viewing hours and dominated the Netflix rankings after its release.
