Netherland FM notes great value of Kazakhstan's leadership in nuclear disarmament

The two sides exchanged views on various issues of bilateral relations and the situation in the world. Tokayev noted that the Netherlands is one of the key partners of Kazakhstan in the European Union. Economic, scientific and technical aspects of bilateral collaboration acquire new significance for Kazakhstan in the light of the tasks reflected in the annual State-of-the-Nation Address of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
In turn, Timmermans praised the Strategy of Kazakhstan on joining the top 30 developed countries. Netherlands are willing to participate in this project including through the exchange of experience in agriculture and alternative energy. In the context of the upcoming Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague in March 2014, Foreign Minister of the Netherlands stressed the great value of Kazakhstan's leadership in nuclear disarmament.
During the meeting Tokayev shared his vision of the Kazakhstan-Netherlands parliamentary contacts. Members of the Kazakh Parliament intend to develop multilateral contacts within the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
