New 1st Deputy Chairman of Kazakh National Security Committee named

Zhanat Elimanov who previously served as the Chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Financial Monitoring has been appointed as the First Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service.

Hailing from Karaganda region, Elimanov is a graduate of the Buketov Karaganda State University from which he graduated in 1999.

At the start of his career, Elimanov served as a prosecutor mostly in Karaganda region. In 2007 he became the assistant to the Prosecutor General and two years later was appointed as the advisor to the Justice Minister.

Afterwards he worked for the Kazakh Agency for fight against corruption, the Ministry of Finance, and the Prosecutor General’s Office.

He also served at the Committee for financial monitoring of the Ministry of Finance for several years.

He was named as the Chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Financial Monitoring in January 2021.
