New akim of Temirtau named
Galym Ashimov has been appointed as new akim of Temirtau city, Kazinform News Agency reports.
“Dear compatriots, I am grateful for your trust in me. I have significant challenges ahead, and I am committed to solve them together with you,” the new akim said.
Galym Ashimov was born in 1968. He commenced his professional career in 1989. He worked in various positions at the Zhairem Mining and Concentrating Complex.
He has been engaged in public service since 2000, working as akim of Zhairem village in the Karaganda region. Then he held the positions of Deputy Director for General Affairs, Head of Commercial Department, Logistics Director at Orken Logistics LLP, Head of Logistics Department, and Assistant to the President of Zhairem Mining and Concentrating Complex.
From 2010 to 2013, he served as akim of Karazhal town.
He was the head of the office of the Karaganda region’s akim.
He led the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industry, as well as the Department of Industry, Industrial and Innovative Development of the Karaganda region.
From 2013 to 2015 he was deputy akim of the Karaganda region.
From 2015 to 2020 he held a post of akim of Temirtau city, head of the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control of the Karaganda region.
Prior to this appointment, he worked at JSC Imstalcon.
