New autism centre opens doors in Semey
On December 8 the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation with the support of the Abai region akimat opened its 13th autism centre Asyl Miras (Golden Heritage) in Semey. For the past nine years almost 16,000 children across Kazakhstan learned new skills and improved their development free of charge early under the behavioral intervention programs, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The new centre will provide early intervention treatment for 300 kids a year. 15 specialists will work with children in compliance with the Autism. One World for All program. Seven classes are equipped with necessary furniture and teacher’s editions. Each child will receive early intervention treatment for three months.
Abai region governor Nurlan Urankhayev thanked Bulat Utemuratov for supporting significant projects. He said the new centre is an important step in creating a comfortable space for the development of children with autistic spectrum.
