New Director of Qazaqconcert named

Tair Karatayev has been appointed as the Director of Qazaqconcert and will replace Aktoty Raimkulova who held the post since April 2022, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Born in Almaty in 1989, Tair Karatayev is a graduate of the Kazakh National Conservatory named Kurmangazy.

Throughout his musical career, he worked for Kamerata Kazakhstan and the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Zhambyl Kazakh State Philharmonic Hall. He also served as the deputy director for management and marketing of the Abai Kazakh State Opera and Ballet Theater.

In 2020 he became the director of the Zhambyl Kazakh State Philharmonic Hall and one year later helmed the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater.

Prior to the recent appointment, he was the director of the Kazakh State Academic Theater of Dance.
