New Executive Vice President of Nazarbayev University named

On December 4, by decision of the Nazarbayev University (NU) Board of Trustees, Aslan Sarinzhipov was appointed as the NU Executive Vice President, Kazinform News Agency reports referring to its press service.

He previously served as the Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan and was at the forefront of the team to create NU as a world-class university.

The NU Board of Trustees also appointed new vice presidents:

Darkhan Bilyalov, PhD in Higher Education. Previously, he held the positions of Chairman and Rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University and Vice President of Kazakhstan’s National Academy of Sciences.

Yerlan Shulanov, Master of Business Administration. Previously, he held the positions of Executive Director of NU Graduate School of Education, Chairman and Rector of Kozybayev University, Provost of Narxoz University.

Assel Uvaliyeva, Doctor of Business Administration. Previously, she held the positions of Executive Director of NU Graduate School of Business, Management Board Member and Vice-Rector for Operations of al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Nazarbayev University, as before, will adhere to the principles of academic freedom, meritocracy, transparency, and social responsibility.

The new leadership will continue working on such key tasks as a gradual transition to self-financing, qualitative integration with the global scientific and educational community, as well as closer collaboration with Kazakh universities in matters of developing the education system and improving scientific potential.
