New head of National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research named
By order of the Kazakh emergency minister, Daulet Sarsenbayev has been named the director of the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research of the Emergency Situations Ministry of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the ministry.
The National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research was founded by a merger of the Emergency Situations Ministry’s Institute of Seismology LLP and Seismological Experimental and Methodical Expedition LLP.
The Center’s new head was tasked with concrete instructions to ensure seismological safety of the people and earthquake-prone territories of the country, increase the level of early warning of earthquake threats, as well as to carry out measures to tighten control over earthquake-proof construction.
