New mayor of Aktau named

Abilkair Baipakov has been named as the new mayor of the city of Aktau, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Born in Shetpe village, Mangistau region, Baipakov held senior posts in the region’s public authorities, including the internal policy and culture departments of Mangistau region as well as the chief of staff of the mayor of Aktau, governors of Tupkaraganskiy and Karakiyanskiy districts, Bayandy village of Munailinskiy district, Kaspiy social entrepreneurial corporation, deputy mayor of Aktau city.

Since 2023, Baipakov held the post of the head of the culture, language development and archival affairs of Mangistau region.

Abilkair Baipakov replaced Ulugbek Tnaliyev, who left the post of the mayor of the city of Aktau at how own will.
