New mayor of Kokshetau named

Anuar Kumpekeev has been appointed as the new mayor of Kokshetau city, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Kumpekeev graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University, earned his master’s degree from the University of Bradford. He is a graduate of the Presidential international scholarship Bolashak.

Kumpekeev was appointed as the mayor of Stepnogorsk town, Akmola region, in 2015. He was named the mayor of Pavlodar city in 2018.

Prior to the appointment, Kumpekeev acted as the advisor to the governor of Akmola region.
