New road and bridge opened in Kokshetau
Transport traffic along a new road located in proximity to Lake Kopa and the bridge in the Zastantsionny microdistrict of the Kokshetau region have been launched, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the press service of the akimat of the Akmola region.
The main construction works have been completed, including the installation of two-sided lighting, the arrangement of pavements and a bicycle lane, the provision of traffic lights and drainage channels.
The project is being implemented through a public-private partnership between the regional akimat and Kazzinc JSC. The new roadway will considerably reduce the distance between two districts of the city, thereby alleviating traffic congestion on the main streets of the regional center. Furthermore, the road was constructed in a remarkably short period of just three months.
“The newly constructed section of the road will enhance the level of safety and convenience for road users, while also stimulating the growth of the regional tourism industry,” Marat Akhmetzhanov, the regional akim, highlighted.
Additionally, the head of the region conducted an inspection of the completed reconstruction of the road from Ualikhanov Street to the overpass that traverses the railway, leading to the Zastantsionny microdistrict.
The contractor completed the works including laying drainage channels, construction of pavements, installation of lighting poles, traffic lights and pedestrian fences, as well as the relocation of 110 kV overhead power lines.
