New sports and fitness centre opens doors in Zhambyl region village
A solemn opening of a new sports and fitness centre took place in Aisha Bibi village in Zhambyl region on the eve of the Republic Day of Kazakhstan, Kazinform Agency reports.
Founded in 1892 the village is located in Zhambyl district 18 km away from Taraz city. The well-known Aisha Bibi and Babadzhi hatun mausoleums dadatingack to the XI century are situated there. The population of the village is over 5,000 people.
The new sports complex worth 337.8 million tenge is fitted with modern sports equipment.
There are 174 sports facilities in Zhambyl region with 40% of the population or 489,000 people going for sports.
As earlier reported, the Kazakh President drew attention to the development of the rural settlements.
The President noted one of the key directions is to create modern rural social, engineering, and transport infrastructure. 665 outpatient clinics and rural health posts equipped with all necessary equipment were opened as part of the rural healthcare modernization project. Besides, 20 new multi-faceted hospitals will open their doors, while 12 district hospitals will be modernized. As a result, over four million rural people will get access to high-quality medical services. 100 sports centers will be built, and 650 cultural centers will be built and repaired in the villages.
