New stage in Astana-Vienna political dialogue
VIENNA. February 11. KAZINFORM First Kazakh-Austrian foreign policy consultations with the participation of RK Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Nurlan Danenov and Secretary General of the Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria Johannes Kyrle took place in Vienna yesterday, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Embassy in Austria.
During the private talk with the Sec Gen the head of the Kazakh delegation extended a message of RK Minister of Foreign Affairs Marat Tazhin to Minister for European International Affairs of Austria Michael Spindelegger. N. Danenov told about ?Road to Europe? State Program, priorities of the Kazakh-European cooperation, chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the OSCE in 2010 and the OIC in 2011 and the activity of the republic within the SCO, EurAsEC, CICA and convocation of the III Congress of the World and Traditional Religions? Leaders in Astana under the aegis of the UN.
The diplomats noted similarity of both countries? approaches to the issues of regional security, countering terrorism, extremism and other challenges and threats. The parties highlighted the necessity of assistance to the economic rehabilitation of Afghanistan.
Issues regarding strengthening political and inter-parliamentary interaction were discussed in detail. The parties highly estimated fruitful cooperation of the countries on the international arena. The diplomats exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including strengthening bilateral contractual-legal basis, intensification of trade and economic partnership, attraction of Austrian investments and innovation technologies to our economy, interaction in banking and financial sector, between law-enforcement bodies and in fuel-energy sphere.
