Newly-appointed Ambassador of Japan Yasumasa Iijima presents credentials to Kazakh Deputy FM

Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs  Alibek Bakayev received copies of credentials from the newly-appointed Ambassador of Japan to Kazakhstan Yasumasa Iijima, the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Considering the significant volumes of bilateral trade and direct Japanese investment in Kazakhstan, the side especially noted the need to further deepen trade and economic cooperation.

In addition, the diplomats expressed their readiness to continue close cooperation in multilateral formats, primarily within the UN and other international platforms.

Upon completion of the meeting, the Japanese Ambassador expressed gratitude for a warm welcome and confirmed his readiness to make every effort to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

On December 12, 2024, President of Kazakhstan decreed to appoint Erlan Baudarbek-Kozhataev as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Japan.
