Next direction in Kazakhstan's economic policy to be linked to private enterprise development - PM
ASTANA. December 6. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ The next direction in our economic policy will be linked to the development of private enterprise, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov announced on Tuesday.
"There was a period in 2007 when the global financial crisis quite strongly influenced Kazakhstan, but that period we successfully passed. What's the difference? From 2007 till 2011 the private sector was badly damaged. In order to prevent a collapse the government had to greatly assist and carry out anti-crisis measures. As a result, the level of government involvement in the economy in Kazakhstan in 2011 is immeasurably greater than in 2007," Massimov emphasized.
"I believe the next direction in our economic policy will be linked to the development of private enterprise," he noted.
He added that the government must play a major role in order to stimulate development of innovations.
