Ninth-grade schoolboy develops anti-corruption game in Abai region
Nurali Amangeldiev, a ninth-grader at the Zhezkent school-lyceum in the Borodulikha district, has developed ‘Incorruptible Alpamys’ computer game. The goal of the game is to demonstrate to schoolchildren the detrimental effects of corruption and to foster a culture of its non-acceptance, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The quest-like game lets players assume the roles of either a secret agent or a journalist who investigate a corruption-related case, involving a judge, a prosecutor, or a civil servant. The player explores the world on fight against corruption and uncovers the corruption scheme in the final.
Currently the game is used in Law classes. Nurali plans to develop a mobile application in three languages. He bought VR glasses and equipment to improve the game with the help of one million tenge he had won earlier. He also wants to include Abai Kunanbayev’s sayings in the quest to make the game spiritually meaningful.
The project is unique because it combines legal education and anti-corruption skills.
