Nissan recalls 153,000 vehicles over braking problems
CHICAGO. October 24. KAZINFORM - Nissan Motor Co. is recalling 153, 000 sport-utility vehicles, mostly in the United States, to fix braking problems, Kazinform has learnt from Xinhua.
The recall covers 2013-2014 Pathfinder SUVs, 2013 Infiniti JX35, and 2014 Infiniti QX60 crossover vehicles.
The Japanese automaker said that during light braking on rough roads, the antilock brake system (ABS)'s brake pressure output software setting in affected vehicles may lead to longer stopping distances than drivers expect, thus increasing the risk of a crash.
Of the 153,000 vehicles to be recalled, 151,695 are in the United States, and the rest are in Canada, China, Russia, Mexico and other countries.
There have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the problem, said Nissan.
