No. 21 opening first store in Japan
No. 21 is landing in Asia with a store in Tokyo designed by Hannes Peer with art direction by creative director Alessandro Dell'Acqua, the brand's first standalone location in the world.
The 170m2 space is itended to be "raw and sophisticated," according to the brand, with bare concrete walls and floors in the entry then black and white layered marble floors, polycarbonate ceilings, mirrors, glass, wood and steel, and minimalist lighting, Relaxnews reports.
Inspired by artists Reinhard Mucha and Damien Hirst, the conceptual decor includes an art-deco table cut into six pieces and displayed in glass boxes. Most importantly, the Milan-based luxury label's men's and women's ready to wear and accessories will be on sale. Currently creative director at Rochas, Dell'Acqua founded the No. 21 brand in 2010 and launched menswear lines in January this year for the Fall-Winter 2014 season.
The boutique will be located at 4-3-17 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.
