No customs border between Kazakhstan and Russia affords new opportunities for drug trafficking
ASTANA. KAZINFORM "Absence of customs border between Kazakhstan and Russia affords new opportunities for drug trafficking," deputy Prosecutor General of Russia Yuri Ponomarev said.
"Following the results of the last year the number of elicited facts of drug smuggling by the nationals of Kazakhstan in Russia has doubled. As of today we have already seized 43 kg of drugs crossing over the Kazakh-Russian border," he told the forum of heads of near-border prosecutor's offices. "Besides, Russia reports increase in volume and delivery of Chinese-made potent substances. All this requires new methods and forms of cooperation between law-enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan and Russia," he added.
