No. of tourists visited Almaty exceeds 1.5mln since start of 2023

The number of tourists visited Almaty surpassed 1.5 million in nine months of this year, Alisher Abdykadyrov, deputy mayor of the city, said, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports. 

Speaking at a briefing, Abdykadyrov said that Almaty attracts every second foreign tourists arriving in Kazakhstan. Thus, in nine months of this year, the number of tourists visiting city rose 17.5% to 1.5mln. There was a 51.5% rise in the number of foreign tourists to around 410 thousand.

Since the beginning of this year, 16 eco-glamping hotels and a 112-room hotel have been opened. Construction of five facilities for 847 rooms as well as designing of 10 facilities for 1,420 rooms is underway, he added.
