Nobel laureates stress celebrate Kazakhstan’s great contribution to the development of science

The meeting with the Head of State has been attended by Kurt Wüthrich, Finn Kydland, George Fitzgerald Smoot III, Muhammad Yunus, Svyatoslav Timashev, Christopher Pissarides, and Aryeh Varshel. Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked his interlocutors for their contribution to the VII Astana Economic Forum and stressed that the formation of the Astana club of Nobel laureates attaches special importance to this event. "Your participation in the Forum is making a real contribution to a constructive solution of world economic problems", said the President of Kazakhstan. The round table discussed a number of issues related to global economic, social and political enhancement, as well as development of Kazakhstan in the context of globalization. Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the effects of the global financial crisis continue to exert strong pressure on the global economy resulting in uncertainty in the solution of economic problems in Europe. The President also spoke about the measures being taken by Kazakhstan in the context of global challenges. In particular, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that our country has adopted Kazakhstan-2050 Strategy, as well as long-term program of forced industrial -innovative development. Furthermore, Nursultan Nazarbayev said that Kazakhstan is making a significant contribution to the global energy including alternative. This will be facilitated by the international exhibition "EXPO-2017" themed "Energy of the future". In turn, the Nobel Prize winners stressed Kazakhstan's great contribution to the development of science and innovation.
