Non-oil sector is major contributor to economic growth, says Kazakh President
Addressing the 1st Agriculture Workers’ Forum in Astana, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that the non-oil sector accounts for much of economic growth in the country, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
Head of State Tokayev highlighted that a number of concrete steps have been made under the new economic policy to support the agricultural sector.
Thanks to the systemic measures taken, the inflation has slowed down, the national economic growth picked up to exceed 4% in January-October this year. What’s important is that the positive dynamics is ensured mostly due to non-oil sector development. Trade, processing industry, construction and agriculture account for more than two-thirds of GDP growth. It’s necessary to continue working actively in this direction, stated the Kazakh President.
