'North Caspian Operating Company' fined for death of seagulls
ASTANA. September 3. KAZINFORM - Atyrau company "North Caspian Operating Company", taking part in the development of the Kashagan offshore has been fined for the death of seagulls.

As we have previously reported 179 dead gulls, some of which are listed as endangered, were found on artificial islands in the sea, from which wells are being drilled. The death of seagulls was man-induced. For the birds killed the company donated to the budget of just over KZT 1.5 million.
The press service of the company declined to comment on this fact, citing the fact that "we have no idea".
NOTE: It has not yet been found out what caused death of 1250 gulls, including a Red-headed gull, found in June on natural islands in the Caspian Sea. "North Caspian Operating Company" denies its involvement in their deaths.
