North Caspian Operating Company will report on environmental effects of Kashagan field
ATYRAU. March 19. KAZINFORM - As the company reports, "North Caspian Operating Company» («NCOC») on March 20 in Atyrau will host the public hearings to assess the impact of "Kashagan" field pilot development project on the environment.
We will talk about the commissioning and startup of facilities of pilot field development, scheduled for June. Currently, 40 wells have been drilled in Kashagan to be used for oil production, and in the future to inject the associated gas into the reservoir.
At the hearing there will be given a general description of the project, the design be presented, assessment of the impact under the current work conditions, and the impact assessment in view of emergencies. The talk will touch upon the planned measures for environmental protection, monitoring and control. There will socio-economic assessment of the project. According to the environmental specialists the most controversial statement concerns the emissions.
