EVENTS
1959 – The Kazakhstan Journalist Union is founded to ensure constructive dialogue between mass media, Kazakhstani authorities and society.
1993 – The Decree №1399 of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On introduction of the national currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan” is issued.
1997 – The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On diplomatic service” is signed.
2005 – Kazakhstan accesses the International Air Services Transit Agreement.
2010 – The flag of the Asian Games is handed over to the organizers of the Astana-Almaty Asian Games 2011 in Guangzhou.
2013 – I TURKSOY International Forum themed ‘Cultural heritage of the Turkic world and museums’ is held in the Turkish city of Bursa.
2015 – Nazarbayev University alumna Dana Akylbekova is recognized as the best young scientists of the year and wins a 7.5 mln tenge prize at the International Innovation Forum themed “Kazakhstan is a new global innovation hub” for her research on diabetes.
2015 – The Kazakh Embassy in Mongolia together with the Mongolian Academy of Science presents ‘Words of Wisdom’ by Abai in the Mongolian language dated to the 170th anniversary of the Kazakh poet.
2017 – A monument to Yesset-batyr is unveiled in Bestamak village, 30 km south of Aktobe city.
2018 – ‘Aika’ drama which stars Kazakhstani actress Samal Yeslyamova wins the grand prix of the 28th FilmFestival Cottbus in Germany.
2020 – Memory of a world-renowned scientist and thinker Al-Farabi is honored with a memorable plaque at the Ankara University.
2021 – President of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev together with the presidents of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and the prime minister of Hungary attend the unveiling ceremony of a new premise of the Secretariat of the Cooperation Council of the Turkiс Speaking States.
