EVENTS

1944 –Meskhetian Turks are deported to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. A total of 115,500 people have been deported.

2006 – The unveiling ceremony of a new premise of the U.S. Embassy in Astana is held.

2008 – Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas and State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) sign an agreement on building Kazakhstan Caspian Oil Transpiration System in Baku.

2011 – Kazakhstan for the first time hosts the Global Entrepreneurship Week uniting millions of young people around the world.

2012 – 183 states vote for Kazakhstan’s membership in the UN Human Rights Council during the 67th UNGA held in New York.

2013 – The Consumer Rights Protection Agency is founded in Kazakhstan.

2018 – 120 peacekeepers from Kazakhstan join the UN blue helmets in Lebanon.

2019 – Over 700 performers of the State Academic Philharmonic of Nur-Sultan join #Abai175 flash mob devoted to the 175th anniversary of Abai.

2021 – The Council of Turkic-Speaking Countries is renamed as the Organization of Turkic Countries at the Summit in Istanbul.

2022 – Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev meets with the members of the ‘Jana adamdar’ youth movement.
