1945 – Pavlodar Regional Drama Theatre named after A.P.Chekhov is established.

2018 – For the first time in Kazakhstan’s chess history, Zhansaya Abdumalik makes it to the 1/8 finals of the Women's World Chess Championships held in Khanty-Mansiysk. The event brings together world’s 64 best chess players.
