About 23,000 babies born in Almaty region since beginning of year

About 23,000 children have been born in the Almaty region, including 204 twins and one triplet since the beginning of the year, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to the regional akimat, over 1,000 infants were born in the town of Konaev of the total babies born in the region. The maternity and gynaecological departments in Konaev are now equipped with all the necessary medical resources.

It is noteworthy that the number of babies born in Kazakhstan in 2023 exceeded 390,000.

As of October 1, 2024, the population of Kazakhstan was 20,223,218. Of this number, 12,704,977 live in cities and 7,518,241 in rural areas.

As earlier reported, a 38-year-old woman recently gave birth to triplets at the City Perinatal Center No. 2 in Almaty.
