ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The number of inspections of small and medium-sized business decreased by almost 90 percent in Kazakhstan during a year-long moratorium, the press service of the Prosecutor General of the Republic said Jan.12.

"The number of inspections of private business decreased by 142,000, or 82 percent (from 173,082 to 30,807), including 86 percent for small and medium business (from 158,915 to 22,050)," the press service said.

In general, a moratorium announced in 2014 by the head of state helped reduce the overall number of inspections per year by 176,000, or 67 percent, Kazinform refers to trend.az.

"Since the beginning of the moratorium, signals of massive violations of the conditions of the moratorium have not been reported," said the statement. "The number of coordinated inspections by public authorities is as follows: the tax authorities agreed on 75 inspections, sanitary-epidemiological surveillance - on 13 inspections, prosecution bodies - 8, supervising bodies on the medical and pharmaceutical activity - 3, bodies of customs control - 1, the Committee of Industry and tourism - 1."
