Number of passengers served by Uzbekistan's airports increased
Uzbekistan's airports informed about the activities carried out in 2024, UzA reports.
It is noted that as a result of cooperation with international airlines, the Jeddah – Tashkent – Jeddah weekly flight, four regular flights per week Warsaw – Tashkent – Warsaw and Doha – Tashkent – Doha, as well as two charter flights per month Madrid – Tashkent – Madrid and Madrid – Urgench – Madrid, were launched. Starting from the first decade of September, the flights Madrid – Tashkent – Madrid and Madrid – Urgench – Madrid will be launched twice a week.
The number of passengers served by Uzbekistan Airports reached 13 million 500 thousand, which is 30% more than in 2023.
The volume of cargo handling has increased significantly – 95,049 units. A new cargo terminal with an area of 8,500 square meters will be put into operation this year.
Urgench International Airport’s runway has been completely reconstructed, and the reconstruction of the Andijan International Airport’s runway has begun.
Earlier it was reported that the King Khalid International Airport had recorded a remarkable surge in passenger traffic, exceeding 37 million passengers throughout the year.
