Nur Otan supports initiative of People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan to hold early presidential elections

"February 14, the Council of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan put forward an initiative to hold elections of the President of Kazakhstan in 2015. Nur Otan, as the leading political force in the country, fully supports this initiative," said Baibek. He explained that the new wave of financial crisis is spreading around the world. "The situation is aggravated by serious geopolitical tensions. Moreover, xenophobia, religious intolerance, amplified radical movements are growing in the most developed countries of the world. At the meeting of the Nur Otan Political Council Head of State emphasized that the years to come will be the time of global trials. Only strong states and united nations will pass through this difficult stage," he added. Kazakhstan, as part of the global world, is bound to feel the negative impact from the outside. Nur Otan urges Kazakhstani citizens, all political parties and social forces to support the initiative of holding early presidential elections. It bears to remind that the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan has proposed to hold early presidential elections. Presidential and parliamentary elections are scheduled for 2016. In order to observe the standards and norms of the Constitution, the elections should be held separately. Members of the Assembly requested the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan to put forward the initiative to hold early presidential elections.
