Nursultan Nazarbayev chairs meeting on development of 'green belt' around Astana

ASTANA. June 26. KAZINFORM - Today President Nursultan Nazarbayev has chaired a meeting devoted to the development of "green belt" around Astana, the press service of Akorda informs.

The session was attended by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Sultanov, Minister of Environment N.Kapparov, Vice-Minister of Environmental Protection E.Nysanbaev and the Deputy Akim of Astana V.Krylov.

The President has been presented information about the progress of creating a green zone around Astana. Special attention was paid to establishing recreational areas in the forest area, as well as landscaping the urban area and increasing green space.

Following the event the Head of State has given a number of specific assignments.
